Supported Independent Living
Safe, comfortable, and supportive homes for NDIS participants across Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Tweed — where you can live as independently as possible.
NDIS Registered Provider — Gold Coast, Brisbane & TweedWhat is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS-funded support that provides assistance with daily tasks in a shared or individual living arrangement. SIL is designed for participants who need regular support to live as independently as possible — whether that's help with personal care, cooking, cleaning, medication management, or simply having a support worker available overnight.
At Care in Disability Services Australia, we work closely with participants, their families, and support coordinators to find the right SIL arrangement — one that matches your goals, preferences, and level of support needs.
What our SIL support includes
Every SIL arrangement is tailored to the individual — here's what you can expect from our approach.
24/7 support available
Around-the-clock support options for participants who need overnight or high-intensity assistance.
Shared and individual options
We offer both shared living arrangements and individual SIL placements to suit different needs and preferences.
Person-centred approach
Your home, your rules. We tailor support to your routines, goals, and lifestyle — not the other way around.
Skilled, compatible support workers
We carefully match participants with support workers who share compatible interests and communication styles.
Safe, accessible homes
Our SIL properties are accessible, well-maintained, and located close to community services and transport.
Goal-focused living
We actively support participants to build skills, pursue interests, and work towards their NDIS goals every day.
Is SIL right for you?
SIL is suitable for NDIS participants who require regular support to live independently but do not need the level of care provided in a residential facility. It is often the right fit for participants who want to live with others in a supported home environment, or those transitioning from family care or hospital settings into independent living.
SIL may be right for you if:
- You have an NDIS plan that includes SIL funding
- You require daily support with personal care, household tasks, or daily routines
- You want to live more independently in a home environment
- You are transitioning from family care, hospital, or another living arrangement
- You would benefit from overnight support or active night supervision
